I am not a member with Caringwheels. Can I request for CaringWheels care aide services?
The care aide services are only available to members of CaringWheels. The free membership is open to everyone who is a caregiver or who wish to support our caregiving community.
What is the difference between care aide and medical chaperone?
A care aide provides befriending, companionship and daily living assistance.
A medical chaperone accompanies care recipients to medical appointments and relay the doctor’s advice to the caregiver.
Are care aides professionally certified for counselling?
While our care aides provide empathetic support and a listening presence, akin to a trusted friend, they are not certified professional counselors. Any information shared by them is intended for emotional support and should not replace professional, medical or legal advice.
When should I consider engaging a care aide?
Some scenarios you can consider would be if you’re experiencing or feeling any of these:
- Wanting to take a break from caregiving to focus on yourself
- Have medical appointments or treatments to attend
- You require an additional support for tasks like bed transfers, toileting, and other two-person tasks
- You want to feel more confident in caregiving with someone there to assist you
How does CaringWheels assign a suitable care aide?
CaringWheels will carefully match the skills and experiences of the care aide to the specific needs of both the caregiver and the care recipient(s), keeping in mind the care recipient’s condition, required level of support, and any specialized needs.
Our care aides will have basic care protocols and skillsets to effectively address the identified needs, ensuring a compatible and supportive caregiving relationship.
How early should I make my booking?
Can I make a cancellation or a change to my bookings?
Cancellation of the booking will incur charges because our care aide has set aside time for your confirmed booking. Kindly note the expected charges:
– After a care aide has been assigned: $30
– Only one change to your booking is allowed
What happens if the care aide does not show up or is late?
Our care aide is advised to arrive 10 mins before the start of the booking time. If they have yet to arrive, please contact us directly at 6224 2296. We will arrange for a replacement if necessary.
